New Year, New You: Changing Your Styling Game for a Better You

Posted: Jan 08 2015 by Lookbook Store

With 2015 still fresh on our planners, resolutions are abound. And with that, it's great to start afresh with our sartorial act. After all, it's nice to do things right early in the new year.

So today, we're going to share some great ideas that can be added to your style resolution.  Help yourselves with them and, together, let's make 2015 one heck of a stylish year.

 1. Kick out the habit of boredom purchases.

Whether you'd like to admit it or not, a lot of us are guilty of this. While waiting for someone, we tend to browse at online shops or do some window shopping and, impulsively, end up being, say, $100 or $500 poorer than a while ago.

Instead, start the habit of making a list of must-have key wardrobe pieces so the next time you find yourself online bored and waiting for your BFF to virtually poke you, you'll know what to buy.

 2. Invest on pieces that would be your style anchor.

It's a thing of the past now to just focus on buying basic staples, such as a white t-shirt, albeit they're still essential. Instead, invest on items that are considered the anchors of your personal style. For instance, a studded shoulder denim blazer can go a long way if you're the casual dresser, or a lace hem pencil skirt if you like to dress up smart and stylish in the office.

 3. Create your own style.

It's 2015 so it's high time to stop idolizing fashion bloggers and Kim Kardashian type of celebrities. While there's nothing wrong with getting inspiration from these fashionistas,  idolizing style celebrities is just so... unoriginal and so juvenile.  With the style tips you've learned from them so far last year, it's about time you make your own stamp in the fashion scene.

What Yves Saint Laurent  said, "Fashions fade, style is eternal," rings truer than it was before what with all the hype in fashion. So instead of being a copycat, be you all the way.

Have a stylish 2015!
