Pantone’s Marsala to Rock Your Style This 2015
Posted: Dec 30 2014 by Lookbook Store
As 2014 is about to end, we reminisce the good and bad days we had this year. Interestingly, we also saw the fashion statements made by many different celebrities.
Of course, the thing about New Year is that it’s also a time to look forward to better things and…newer trends.
Some of 2014’s best colors were emerald green, mimosa yellow and honeysuckle.
What would it be this 2015?
Pantone, Inc., the authority and provider of color systems and leading technology for accurate communication of color, just released the newest color trend for 2015.
And it’s no other than…
Marsala.
Nope, it’s neither a dish nor a sauce.
Instead, it’s the new color trend this 2015. We know it sounds weird, but it comes from Pantone. So... go figure.
Anyway, in case you’re wondering, Marsala is a warm-reddish brown hue named after a wine. So it’s no wonder if you’re feeling thirsty after reading its name.
What makes this color deserving of Pantone’s prestigious title is something we really have no clue. What we do know is that Marsala is pleasing to the eyes since it’s not so warm, and the brown hue balances the very bold color of red. It's a tasteful, earthy hue that's perfect for those who want to keep their clothes less bold but still rich in color.
And now that you know what to expect to see in the fashion scene next year, here’s a little trivia.
Did you know that Marsala has been invading the red carpet since 2009? Yep. That’s true. And we thought it’s just maroon or burgundy. As it turns out, it has its own name.
Anyway, let’s take a look at Mila Kunis when she rocked a Marsala outfit on the red carpet at the 2009 Emmy Awards:
Didn’t she look sultry in that dress?
And... look at Katy Perry’s new hairstyle posted on her Instagram (@katyperry):

She’s totally rocking the Marsala hair hue. Awesome, right?
And there you have it, lovelies. Expect this color to be the talk of the town and to invade your wardrobe this 2015.
