Posted: Sep 26 2014 by Lookbook Store
In the blogosphere, fashion is, by far, the most covered topic. In fact, anyone who has an interest in fashion and styling, even in the slightest, owns a blog. Even girls, as young as 12, are blogging about their outfits and styles.

So what's the big deal with fashion blogging? Apart from getting freebies for review and invites to fashion events, it's a starting path to entering the challenging and highly competitive world of fashion. That being said, if you want to make a name for yourself in the industry, start a fashion blog.
Â
It may sound intimidating but starting one is fairly easy. Here are some great tips to help you:
Â
Â
Step 1: Decide on this and stick with it.
Gaining lots of readers and followers takes time on your part. So it requires commitment for your blog to really grow. Apart from that, there are also issues that many bloggers encounter. We've actually named two problems in our previous post, which you can read here. If you're committed to blogging, you'll be able to face challenges head strong and succeed.
Â
Â
Step 2: Choose a blogging platform.
To create a blog, you'll need a blogging platform. The most common platforms people use are Wordpress and Blogspot. Each have their own pros and cons so it's up to you to find out which one works best for you.
Â
Step 3: Create a name for your blog.
You're going to need that when you register for an account. Think of something that will reflect who you are and your style. Read this tip on how to choose a blog name you won't regret.
Â
Â
Once you're all set up, you're now free to write whatever fashion topics you like. Of course, it helps to plan on what kind of topics you want to write. Keep in mind that you'll be competing against a sea of fashion bloggers, so it's best to focus on topics that are unique, interesting and completely you.
Â
Tutorials, coverage of fashion events, shopping hauls, reviews -- these are some of the topics that are interesting to read. So feel free to try them and just inject a personal touch to your posts to make them even more interesting.
Â
Step 4: Take high-definition photos.
If you can, invest in a good DSLR camera as they take better photos than a point-and-shoot camera. People visit blogs not just for the stories but to look at photos so the better they look, the more readers you'll gain.
Â
And there you have them. It's easy right? Just remember: always be yourself. Don't try to copy what others have written because readers can tell. Make your style blog a reflection of yourself and you'll gain followers in time. Happy blogging!
